It is amazing just how many lives this one building has had a part in. A bittersweet and pretty powerful image, if one takes a moment with it. Seeing this placed stripped and reduced to a few really striking graphic elements is almost surreal. It would be interesting to use a lift and long tele lens t0 reduce this to those tidy little colored compartments. Great stuff Noah charlie @ 2010-01-18 07:40:00
Thanks Charlie--I like the telephoto lens idea. It should be noted that the shadows in the foreground are from new townhomes built across the street, which sort of tells you what direction the area is moving in. Noah @ 2010-01-18 08:28:25
I have to say I prefer this one..Nice shot, you're catching very well what seems to be the huge dimension of the building and its emptiness. Thomas @ 2010-02-04 08:58:51
Checked out the one on your flickr and I must say that I think this one is better. In looking through your shots I really like the way you compose them - they're usually very geometric, almost symmetrical but not quite - very interesting, at any rate. You have that rare ability to take the normal and make it bizarre, or at least strange. I'll definitely be checking back in. Chris @ 2010-02-20 21:18:13
Thanks for the comments, and in retrospect I also think this one works better than the flickr version. Sometimes it takes me a while to make up my mind. Noah @ 2010-02-22 15:10:06
